Relevant Experience:

  • Started in fall 1989
  • Member at Cambridge G.C.
  • favourite course is St. Thomas Golf & CC.

Since purchasing my first set of clubs (which my dad had "fixed" for me and I still have in my basement) for $15 at the age of 13 at an auction, it has been all about golf. My experiences started early with full-time jobs at age 16 at Victoria Park East and West golf courses. As a junior, I played with many players who went on to play different tours including Mike Weir and his caddie, Brennan Little, also a school classmate. I chose a different route by becoming a course pro starting with valuable experience at Sarnia G+CC, then back to Victoria Park East. Starting at the Cambridge Golf & Fashions location in Fall, 1989 I continued with both a retail job as well as instructing golf over the next 4 years at Oaks of St. George, Merry Hill and Tri City Golf. With responsibilities of work and family, I ended my professional status. Over the next years I helped open and operate other stores as well as taking on a wide range of operations at this location. Over the years, I have been privileged to attend numerous golf shows, seminars, major tournaments, being certified as a club fitter, and special meet + greet dinners North America wide.

I am married to Guida and have 4 children. Now that the whole family is showing interest in the game as well as helping out at the store, I am more interested in getting back into the game and possibly teaching again in a limited capacity.

  • 2003 club champion
  • past Junior Member of Galt G&CC (4 years)

In the summer, my time is split between golf and fastball. I played in three leagues last year for two different teams. Every other minute I have in the summer is spent in the store and on the course. I just bought a house in Cambridge, so I might not have as much time to golf this coming summer. I hope to play in a few more tournaments this year because you always meet new people, which is also a highlight of my work. I also have a keen interest in club and shaft technology.
